Course Descriptions

Emerging Topics in Business, Culture, and Technology - Field Focus: Accounting and Finance
Undergraduate - MGMT425IE (3 credits)
Graduate - MGMT5245IE (3 credits)
This course provides an experiential study of current business, culture, and technology practices in a field experience - to be conducted domestically or globally. Students will examine current practices in business and/or technology while also melding culture and the arts to broaden the experience.

Students will explore key emerging topics coupled with a field experience, allowing them to think strategically and critically. As this course is experiential-based given a destination in the Experiential Studies program, the course also introduces economic, historical, and social forces which influence the culture of the chosen destinations to be explored. The particular focus of the course will change to meet "bleeding edge and emerging topics" affecting business, culture, and technology. Students will explore these emerging topics using application, reflective practice, and research. Emerging topic subject matter to be announced in advance. Prerequisite: None.
